THE WINE & THE REGION Grape Varietal: 100% Albariño Baladiña Albariño comes from the traditional, boutique family-owned winery of Lagar de Besada in the Rias Baixas region of Spain – capital of Albariño wines. With a view of the Atlantic Ocean waters, Baladiña’s vines are enriched by a cool, damp micro-climate unique to this hilly, coastal region. These conditions give Baladiña’s grapes a crisp and mouth-watering flavor and acidity, vital for the distinctive and perfected style of Baladiña. The Rias Baixas region is home to the most highly acclaimed Albariño wines, spanning miles along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Galicia, Spain. THE STYLE High average rainfall and cool climate conditions help retain crisp and mouth-watering acidity in Baladiña’s grapes – vital for the distinctive style, intense flavor, and pleasant floral aromas. PAIRINGS SUSHI: Raw and seared fish complement Baladiña’s crisp, clean flavors, specifically sushi-grade tuna, salmon and yellowtail. LATIN: Baladiña boasts citrus fruits with a light mineral edge that accentuates the rich flavored cuisines of Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, and Peru. Ceviches, various salsas, and even tacos serve as wonderful Latin-inspired pairings with Baladiña. SEAFOOD: Baladiña pairs most exquisitely with seafood, reminiscent of the fishing villages that line the Galician coasts. |
